My
name is Anthonyson Gonsalves (aka Kent).
A native of St. Kitts, Nevis and the United States respectively. My musical career started in St.
Lucia in 1976, as a lead vocalist with one of the islands
most popular group "Rebirth 7". Between 1976 and 1983 I recorded
on two group albums and was crowned three times Calypso King
of Soufriere.
In
1983, I returned to St. Kitts where I entered several calypso competitions. I achieved winning the Tourist Theme Song Competition in 1984 and
I recorded
my first single in 1988 in the United States, which made an instant impact. I have
been a lead vocalist with various bands playing throughout
the country and also recorded on two compilation CDs.
In December 1999, I released my solo CD entitled "This
one is for you" which was successful.
In
2002, I celebrated twenty five years as a singer / songwriter
with the release of my second CD entitled
"Are you ready" which again was successful.
In
2003, I released my Mother's Day single with the big hit song "Mama Mama" which is a tribute to the passing of my beloved mother and all the mothers of the world.
In December 2004. I recorded on the compilation CD "Sugar City Classic Gold Volume 1" with various artists.
In March 2005. I completed recording my new CD entitled "Count On Me" to be released in the summer of 2005. This is the result of my hard work and dedication as a musician.
